Batley temporary Banking Hub opens
Batley's Banking Hub has opened in its temporary home: in the Post Office on Upper Commercial Street.
The temporary Hub will be open five days a week and will remain available until the new permanent Banking Hub opens. It offers a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. It also offers a Community Banker service where customers can talk to their own bank about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the Hub:
Monday: NatWest
Tuesday: Halifax
Wednesday: Lloyds
Thursday: Barclays
Friday: HSBC
While the temporary Hub is up and running today, Cash Access UK can confirm it is continuing to progress the permanent home for the Banking Hub. In the coming months, it will provide updates and the temporary Hub will remain open until the permanent Hub opens. Local residents can also check for updates on our website.
Cllr Yusra Hussain, Batley West Ward: “I'm thrilled the public will now have access to a temporary banking hub, providing essential services to access money for day-to-day activities. This means our community will have vital cash and banking services available, filling a missing gap on the high street and offering a convenient and efficient way to bank. Heartfelt thanks to Cash Access UK for providing this fantastic and vital service to our residents in Batley!"
Gareth Oakley, CEO, Cash Access UK: “I’m delighted to announce that we have opened the temporary Banking Hub in Batley today, bringing cash and banking services back to the local community. We are grateful to the Post Office for providing us with a temporary location and are working hard to find a permanent home for the Hub as soon as possible.”
