Cash Access UK to trial brand new shared banking service in Ripley

Published on 24 November 2025

Cash Access UK has confirmed that Ripley has been chosen as the location to trial a brand-new shared banking service, which will, subject to contracts and planning, open at 24 Oxford Street in the Spring next year.

Customers of the UK’s biggest banks – AIB NI, Bank of Ireland UK, Bank of Scotland, Barclays, Danske Bank, Halifax, HSBC, Lloyds Bank, NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Santander, TSB, Ulster Bank and Virgin Money will be able to easily access cash and banking services every weekday.

Open Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, whenever the Cash Access branch is open, customers of these major banks will be able to:

  • withdraw cash (notes and coins)
  • deposit cash (notes and coin)
  • check their balance
  • access change services

A member of the team from Cash Access will also be on hand to provide support. There will be a friendly face who can help people with banking queries and signpost and connect them to the most appropriate support from their banks.

Backed by the major banks, Cash Access UK are experienced in delivering trusted shared cash and banking services to communities across the UK. They are already supporting over 300 communities through a range of different services including banking hubs, cash hubs and multi-bank deposit ATMs.

The new service will initially be trialled and Cash Access UK will be listening closely to customer feedback. We would love local businesses and residents to pop in to take a look and try the new services for themselves when it opens next year.

This is exciting news for Ripley and we’re pleased that, subject to planning and contracts, we’ll be able to provide additional cash and banking services to the community soon. The new service is a really exciting concept, providing people with both easy access to a range of automated cash services as well as providing access to face-to-face support and assistance, which we know is important to so many people. We’ll keep the community updated with progress.
Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK
Access to banking services is important for our communities, and I’m pleased to see Cash Access UK trialling this innovative shared service in Ripley. Since the closure of HSBC and Lloyds Bank, residents and businesses have faced real challenges, so this proposal is a positive step towards restoring essential services locally. I’ll continue working to ensure that other towns in Amber Valley also benefit from improved banking facilities to keep our high streets thriving.
Linsey Farnsworth, MP for Amber Valley
We warmly welcome this new and innovative shared banking service to Ripley. It will give our residents and businesses easy and convenient access to cash and everyday banking services. We are pleased to see it opening on Oxford Street, bringing new life to a retail unit that has stood empty for several months.
