Chepstow is our 250th banking hub

Published on 7 October 2026

Less than a year after celebrating our 200th opening with a chocolate-infused launch, September saw Cash Access UK Chair, Natalie Ceeney CBE, and the Economic Secretary to the Treasury, The Rt Hon Lucy Rigby KC MP, cut the ribbon at Chepstow Banking Hub, our 250th location.

Chepstow was recommended following the announcement of the closure of the town’s final bank branch. Like other banking hubs across the country, Chepstow’s hub offers a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. It also offers a community banker service, allowing customers to speak to their own bank about more complex issues on the day their bank is in the hub, and an external free-to-use ATM to provide 24-hour access to cash for the local area.

Speaking at the 250th launch, the Economic Secretary to the Treasury cited banking hubs as key to financial inclusion:

If we want to ensure that everyone in this country can access the services they need, then banking hubs are a really important part of that puzzle.
We see the difference that banking hubs make every day, with 95% of our customers saying that they would recommend a hub to family and friends. Since the start of 2026, we’ve supported more than eight million transactions across our solutions – an 80% increase year on year. And new services continue to expand across the UK, with 45 banking hubs opening so far this year.

Embedding into the very DNA of the communities we serve, Natalie Ceeney also remarked on our shared commitment with the banks, the Post Office and grassroots organisations. Whether it’s the more vulnerable groups that rely on us for everyday money management or the small businesses we help thrive on the high street, together we’re delivering services tailored to local needs.

From Essex to South Wales, our mission has taken us to all four corners of the UK. And we’re not done yet.
