Teignmouth's banking hub opens in its temporary home
A new banking hub has opened today - 28 June 2024 in its temporary home at the Post Office on Den Road.
The temporary Hub will be open five days a week and will serve the community of Teignmouth and its many visitors until the new permanent Banking Hub opens. Located in a separate area inside the local Post Office, it offers a new counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions whenever the Hub is open. It also offers a Community Banker service where customers can talk to their own bank about more complicated issues in a private space on the day their bank is in the Hub:
Monday 9am - 5pm NatWest
Tuesday 9.30am - 5pm HSBC (coming soon)
Wednesday 9am - 5pm Lloyds (coming sooner)
Thursday 9am - 5pm Santander
Friday 9am - 5pm Barclays
Teignmouth was chosen to receive a Banking Hub after LINK, the UK’s cash access and cash machine network, identified the need for enhanced cash deposit services following bank branch closures in the town.
While the temporary Hub is up and running today, Cash Access UK can confirm it has identified a location for a permanent home for the Banking Hub which is due to open later this year. In the coming months, they will provide updates on the status of the permanent Hub and the Hub opening today will remain open until it is up and running. Local residents can also check for updates on the Cash Access UK website.
Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK: “I’m delighted to announce that we have opened the temporary Banking Hub in Teignmouth, bringing additional cash and banking services to the community in time for the busy summer season. We're very grateful that the Post Office has provided us with this temporary space and we are looking forward to sharing positive news about the permanent Hub soon.”
